Fending off aggressive sales people passing themselves off as the ultimate I-know-it-all consultants would probably cause me more hair loss than hair growth. Not to mention the dents they would make to the bank account.
But, a girl gotta do what a girl gotta do! Saving the tresses from further downfall is as high up on the priority ladder as curbing the expanding waistline.
For the bulk of the four decades of my life, I've always been more troubled by the great abundance of my crowning glory than by the lack of it. My hair was so thick, it was impossible to tame the strands and style them to perfection. Throughout my childhood to teenage years, I couldn't have long hairstyle as I would look like a golliwog or an Afro hairdo wannabe before the hair could reach a decent length. Straightening my hair at the hair salon was a bad idea as that left my hair fried and dried. It was only when hair rebonding was invented that I could finally have nice silky long hair.
Alas, my picture-perfect hairdo is facing the great threat of hair loss at the advent of middle age. Nature tells me, no point fighting back, it's life. Wise man says, age with grace, live with it.
The Middle Aged Girl in me says...let me cheat a little...
Am not going to seek exorbitant hair loss treatment.
Gonna try to lose lesser hair and stimulate hair growth by... replacing my regular shampoo products :)
It helps that I found a beautifully packaged pomegranate set on the Internet.
When I found out that I had gotten the whole set at less than half the price of what was being sold at the stores, I already felt like a winner :)
To end it off, my middle aged wisdom says:
Dear pomegranate haircare products,
Thank you for entering my life at this crucial hair-dropping point. My age has taught me not to have heightened expectations of your performance nor expect any miracles. Understanding the great forces of time and Nature, I promise not to hold you responsible for any further loss. Still, I welcome you and hope we can work together to achieve some positive results.
